The M134D Minigun is Dillon Aero's modernized six-barrel 7.62x51 mm NATO rotary machine gun for aircraft, vehicle, ground, and maritime mounts. In the Battle of Marawi context, reporting and Philippine Marine Corps material document M134D mini-guns as U.S.-supplied counterterrorism equipment prioritized for Philippine Marines fighting IS-aligned militants.
Four M134D Gatling-style machine guns were transferred through U.S. counterterrorism assistance to the Philippine Marine Corps in June 2017; the Marine commandant said troops in Marawi were the priority recipients, while available sources document supply and intended operational priority rather than specific firing incidents.
