The Vulcain class is a four-ship French Navy BBPD support-vessel class built to base and support clearance divers on mine-countermeasure tasks. Vulcain and Pluton were built at Lorient, Achéron and Styx at Cherbourg, and public sources also connect the class to French mine-clearance support operations off Kuwait during the 1991 Gulf War.
