Direct proof of use
The FV107 Scimitar appears in the 2014 Russia-Ukraine War through Ukrainian service and British transfer documentation rather than a single public combat incident. In March 2026, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine listed the FV107 Scimitar Mk 2 among CVR(T) armored vehicles in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The transfer path is documented by earlier reporting. Forces News reported in April 2022 that UK Armed Forces Minister James Heappey said the United Kingdom would send 40 CVR(T) vehicles to Ukraine and identified Scimitar as a CVR(T) example. In September 2023, Ukrinform and The Defense Post reported RBSL-linked preparation of Scimitar Mk II CVR(T)s for shipment to Ukraine, with 23 vehicles prepared in 32 days.

Timeline
The first public transfer signal came in April 2022, when Forces News reported the UK plan to send CVR(T) vehicles to Ukraine after the full-scale Russian invasion. The September 2023 shipment reporting narrowed the Scimitar evidence: Ukrinform said the United Kingdom would hand over Scimitar MK2 CVR(T) reconnaissance vehicles after RBSL training and support work, while The Defense Post described 23 Scimitar MK II reconnaissance vehicles being readied for Ukraine.
Open-source transfer trackers and Ukrainian official service reporting later support Ukrainian fielding. Oryx listed 23 FV107 Scimitar Mk IIs as UK-supplied armored fighting vehicles with an August 2023 date, and Ukraine's Ministry of Defence subsequently identified Scimitar Mk 2 vehicles as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine CVR(T) fleet.

Narrative
In Ukrainian service, the Scimitar Mk 2 is best documented as a light tracked reconnaissance vehicle with an organic direct-fire weapon. Ukraine's Defence Ministry described the FV107 Scimitar Mk 2 as a CVR(T) reconnaissance vehicle based on the wider Spartan hull, with a 30 mm L21 RARDEN cannon, coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun, upgraded electronics, communications, sights, ceramic armor, and blast-attenuating seats.
The sources support three separable claims: the United Kingdom planned and prepared CVR(T)/Scimitar transfers to Ukraine, a public open-source aid list recorded 23 Scimitar Mk IIs in the UK aid stream, and Ukraine's Defence Ministry later listed Scimitar Mk 2 vehicles in AFU service. They do not, by themselves, identify a dated battlefield firing engagement, unit, or location for a specific Scimitar vehicle.
The catalog therefore treats the Scimitar's conflict role as Ukrainian reconnaissance, foreign-aid fielding, and light fire support. That role follows from the vehicle type, its 30 mm cannon, and Ukraine's official service description, while the public evidence available here remains stronger for transfer and fielding than for a named tactical action.
