The AH-64 Apache is a U.S. twin-engine attack helicopter built for armed reconnaissance, close combat, and precision attack missions with a 30 mm chain gun, rockets, and Hellfire missiles. In the United States-Iran Conflict, official Operation Epic Fury material identified Apaches among U.S. assets, and DVIDS imagery documented AH-64E aircraft from the 82nd Airborne Division operating with rockets and Hellfire missiles in the CENTCOM area.
Fielded by U.S. forces during Operation Epic Fury; CENTCOM listed AH-64 Apache helicopters among U.S. assets employed against Iran, while DVIDS documented 82nd Airborne Division AH-64E aircraft conducting armed operations in the CENTCOM area.
Fielded by Saudi and Emirati coalition forces for attack-helicopter support in Yemen; Washington Institute analysis described Emirati and Saudi AH-64 Apache helicopters backing coalition operations around Taizz, and coalition reporting said a Saudi Apache crashed in Maareb in July 2016.
AH-64A Peten attack helicopterAttack helicopterThe AH-64A Peten is the Israeli Air Force's Apache attack helicopter, a twin-seat strike platform built around the Apache airframe and used for close support and precision attacks. During the Israel-Hamas War, 190 Squadron Peten crews were part of the October 7 response missions, showing the older AH-64A remained in active combat use.
AH-64D Saraph attack helicopterAttack helicopterThe AH-64D Saraph is the Israeli Air Force name for the Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopter, a twin-seat gunship used for close air support and strike missions. In the Israel-Hamas War, Israeli Apache helicopters were documented firing missiles over Gaza.
Eurofighter TyphoonTwin-engine multirole combat aircraftThe Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine, canard-delta multirole fighter built by the European Eurofighter consortium. In the Yemen Civil War context, Royal Saudi Air Force Typhoons are documented as coalition combat aircraft used for airstrike and interdiction missions, supported by UK-supplied weapons and fleet-support arrangements.
Panavia TornadoTwin-engine variable-sweep wing multirole strike aircraftThe Panavia Tornado is a European twin-engine, variable-sweep wing combat aircraft built by a UK-German-Italian consortium for low-level strike, interdiction, reconnaissance, and air-defense variants. In the Yemen Civil War, Royal Saudi Air Force Tornados formed part of the Saudi-led coalition's air campaign, with direct reporting documenting a Tornado on a close-air-support mission in al-Jawf in February 2020.
Mi-24/Mi-35Attack helicopter and armed assault transportThe Mi-24/Mi-35 Hind family combines an armored attack helicopter with limited troop-carrying capacity, giving operators a platform for close air support, anti-armor fires, and armed escort. In the Russia-Ukraine War, Ukraine has used legacy and donated Mi-24V/Mi-35 airframes for low-level rocket attacks and adapted some Hinds to carry Western unguided rockets.
