Direct proof of use
The 9M14 Malyutka appears in Yemen conflict reporting under both its Soviet designation and its NATO reporting name, AT-3 Sagger. Oryx lists 9M14 Malyutka anti-tank guided missiles in the Houthi inventory and identifies them as weapons inherited from pre-war Yemeni Army stocks.
A separate Gulf News report from November 2018 described Yemeni government forces advancing in Saada province and finding AT-3 Sagger anti-tank guided missiles among arms left by Al Houthi fighters at Bouqa. That report supports battlefield presence in Houthi-held or recently contested ground, but it does not identify a specific launch or target.

Timeline
After the Houthi takeover and the 2015 coalition intervention, Houthi-aligned forces drew on Yemeni government weapons stocks as part of a wider missile and rocket inventory. CSIS describes those stocks as including anti-tank missiles and notes that Houthi access to anti-tank missiles helped resist pro-Hadi and coalition ground forces.
By November 2018, reporting from the Saada front placed AT-3 Sagger missiles among arms abandoned by Al Houthi fighters during government advances around Bouqa.

Narrative
In Yemen, the Malyutka was not documented as a newly supplied precision weapon in the same way as later Iranian-linked Houthi systems. The available source record instead places it in the older anti-tank guided missile layer of the Houthi arsenal, drawn from legacy Yemeni Army holdings and encountered on ground fronts.
The weapon's role was anti-armor and defensive or ambush use against government and coalition-aligned ground forces. Open sources do not provide a reliable count of missiles fired, confirmed targets destroyed, or the exact Yemeni unit operating the system in individual incidents.
