  • TROPHY APS
  • Windbreaker

Rafael's Trophy is an Israeli hard-kill active protection system for armored vehicles, documented in Gaza combat on Merkava tanks and later adopted for additional armored fleets. Rafael says it is in serial production, adaptable to tanks, APCs, wheeled vehicles, and 8x8s, and fielded on Merkava, Namer, Abrams, and Leopard 2A8 fleets.

What Makes Trophy Stand Out

Rafael presents Trophy as a combat-proven APS that creates a neutralization bubble around the vehicle rather than simply adding armor. The official product material emphasizes maturity, wide platform fit, and the threat mix it is built to defeat.

TraitSource-backed factWhy it matters
Operational maturityRafael says Trophy is in serial production, has more than 500,000 operational hours, and draws on more than 20 years of APS experience. It reads as a fielded combat system, not a prototype.
Threat coverageThe product material says Trophy defeats recoilless rifles, ATGMs, HEAT tank rounds, and RPGs.That is the threat set most often associated with tank ambushes and urban anti-armor attacks.
Vehicle fitRafael says Trophy can be adapted to wheeled and tracked IFVs, MBTs, 8x8s, and other medium-weight platforms. The APS spread from Israeli tanks into broader partner fleets because the same core system works across vehicle classes.
Protection geometryThe official material describes 360° azimuth coverage, extensive elevation coverage, and a high-kill probability. It is designed for close ambushes and more difficult top-attack or high-angle threat profiles.
