Project 22160 patrol ship

The Project 22160 patrol ship is a Russian large patrol vessel class built by the Zelenodolsk plant named after A.M. Gorky for territorial-water patrol, exclusive economic zone monitoring, and Black Sea Fleet missions. Named for the lead ship Vasily Bykov, the class combines a helicopter-capable hull with modular mission spaces and long-range endurance.

Conflict Usage

Russian Project 22160 patrol ships have been used in the Black Sea during the Russo-Ukrainian War. Vasily Bykov was identified as one of the ships involved in the opening attack on Snake Island, and the Project 22160 patrol ship Sergey Kotov was attacked by Ukrainian MAGURA V5 naval drones near Crimea in March 2024 and reported sunk.
