MR-2 Viktor systems are documented in Ukrainian service during the 2014 Russia-Ukraine War through Ukrainian military media, defense reporting, and manufacturer-linked delivery context. Defense Express reported in June 2023 that Ukrainian troops were training on Czech-made MR-2 Viktor anti-aircraft vehicles and that the first systems were already on combat duty in the north against kamikaze drones.
ArmyInform later reported that mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Western Air Command had received and mastered MR-2 Viktor systems. That July 2024 report described the weapon as a Czech-made twin 14.5 mm KPV machine-gun complex on a Toyota Land Cruiser 70 chassis and said it would be placed near infrastructure sites to strengthen mobile fire groups against Shahed-136/131-type attack UAVs and other low-flying targets.

Timeline
Czech civil-society funding and Czech defense-industry supply formed the public delivery path. The Gift for Putin campaign said it was raising funds for 15 Viktor air-defense systems for Ukraine, while Excalibur Army said in 2023 that MR-2 Viktor had found application in Ukraine and that dozens of the anti-drone systems had already been delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces through Czech government and partner aid programs.
By June 2023, Ukrainian reporting described crews training on the systems and cited Ukrainian command context that initial Viktor vehicles were already on combat duty in the northern operational zone. By July 2024, ArmyInform placed the systems with Western Air Command mobile fire groups protecting infrastructure against low-altitude drone threats.

Narrative
In Ukrainian service, Viktor filled a short-range, mobile air-defense niche rather than a front-line armored-combat role. Its value in the documented reports was mobility, 14.5 mm firepower, and day/night sighting for mobile teams assigned to low-altitude aerial targets. ArmyInform described mobile fire groups using or receiving the systems for protection of airspace and infrastructure, especially against Shahed-type one-way attack UAVs.
The system's configuration links older ZPU/KPV 14.5 mm gun technology with a pickup chassis and updated sighting/communications package. Excalibur Army's 2023 exhibition notices described Viktor as a light air-defense or light combat vehicle for protection against UAVs and low-flying air targets, while Ukrainian reporting emphasized crew training, combat duty, and placement with mobile fire groups.
