Direct proof of use
The YPR-765 is documented in Ukrainian service during the full-scale phase of the 2014 Russia-Ukraine War through Ukrainian military media, Dutch government aid records, and visually documented battlefield-loss tracking. ArmyInform reported on May 19, 2022 that Ukrainian troops were already using Dutch YPR-765 infantry fighting vehicles, with accompanying imagery from Ukrainian Army training.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence's public aid list identifies 353 YPR tracked armored vehicles, including recovery and training vehicles, as delivered or pledged to Ukraine. Oryx's visually confirmed Ukrainian-loss list separately records YPR-765 and YPR-765 PRI or AIFV-B-C25 entries, showing that the type was not only transferred but also present in battlefield loss evidence.

Timeline
The public record begins in May 2022, when Army Recognition reported YPR-765 tracked armored vehicles donated by the Netherlands in Ukrainian armed-forces service, and ArmyInform published Ukrainian military-media coverage and photos of Ukrainian troops with the vehicles. Dutch public aid reporting later listed hundreds of YPR tracked armored vehicles among the equipment delivered or pledged from February 2022 onward.
On May 20, 2024, the Netherlands announced an additional batch of YPR armored vehicles fitted with remote-controlled weapon stations for Ukraine. The Dutch announcement and Ukrainian reporting described their intended use for moving troops, reconnaissance, offensive and defensive operations, and battlefield fire support. On February 12, 2025, the Dutch Ministry of Defence announced 25 YPR tracked armored vehicles configured for casualty transport.

Narrative
In Ukrainian service, the YPR-765 appears primarily as a tracked protected-mobility vehicle rather than a single uniform fighting-vehicle configuration. The Dutch aid list groups the YPRs under combat vehicles and specifically notes recovery and training vehicles, while the 2024 package added remote-weapon-station vehicles intended to let crews operate the weapon from inside the vehicle.
The 2024 remote-weapon-station package broadened the public role description beyond transport. Dutch and Ukrainian reporting described the vehicles as suitable for troop movement, reconnaissance, attack and defense missions, and fire support. The 2025 medical-evacuation package shows a separate use case for the same vehicle family: armored casualty movement near the front.
The evidence does not identify every Ukrainian unit, front sector, or variant in service. The strongest source-backed claims are that the Netherlands supplied YPR tracked armored vehicles to Ukraine, Ukrainian troops were documented using or training with them by May 2022, RCWS-equipped YPRs were announced for battlefield support roles in 2024, and YPR-765 losses appear in visually documented Ukrainian equipment-loss records.
