Direct proof of use
Quantum Systems announced on 1 August 2022 that Ukraine had ordered Vector reconnaissance drones and that part of the ordered aircraft was already in use in Ukraine. The company described Vector as meeting the Ukrainian Army's aerial-reconnaissance requirement by providing quiet flight, high-resolution airborne video, and encrypted real-time data links.
Later Quantum Systems releases connected Vector directly to battlefield ISR use. In January 2023 the company said the system had been extensively used and tested on the Ukrainian battlefield for military intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; in May 2023 it repeated that battlefield-use statement while announcing a third Ukrainian order.

Delivery and fleet expansion
The documented order sequence began with 33 Vector UAS in August 2022, followed by a January 2023 Ukrainian Ministry of Defense order for 105 more systems and a May 2023 order for another 300 mid-range reconnaissance drones. Quantum Systems stated that these deliveries were funded by the German Government and supported Ukraine's armed forces.
Germany's public military-support list gives the clearest official delivery scale. As accessed on 2 July 2026, the Federal Government listed 619 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts already delivered to Ukraine and 316 additional VECTOR reconnaissance drones in planning or execution.

Operational role
In Ukrainian service, Vector is documented as a mid-range ISR aircraft rather than a strike weapon. The cited sources describe its role as real-time aerial intelligence: collecting EO/IR imagery, transmitting encrypted video to ground stations, supporting situational awareness, and feeding tactical units with target-detection and reconnaissance information.
The Ukrainian battlefield also shaped the system's development. Quantum Systems attributed later Vector improvements, including GNSS-denied operation and AI-enabled detection features, to feedback from Ukrainian operators. A January 2026 company release said Vector was in active service, had sustained service in Ukraine, and was procured by Ukrainian frontline units through the BRAVE1 Marketplace from production facilities in Ukraine.

Local production and sustainment
Quantum Systems' Ukraine support expanded beyond one-time transfers. The company announced a training and support facility in Ukraine in January 2023, a service-training-support and logistics facility by May 2023, and later Ukrainian production. Its 2026 award release described direct procurement by frontline units from Quantum Systems production facilities in Ukraine.
A February 2025 Quantum Systems Ukraine delegation report said the Ukrainian factory expansion would enable production of 400 locally manufactured VECTOR reconnaissance drones, adding local manufacturing capacity to Germany-funded deliveries.
