Direct proof of use
The clearest direct conflict-use evidence is a September 26, 2022 open-source identification thread from Marib, Yemen. The thread described pro-Presidential Leadership Council soldiers driving several armored vehicles at a military parade and identified Ratel BAU-23x2 vehicles among the displayed equipment.
Oryx's 2015 handbook of pre-war Yemeni fighting vehicles separately listed the Ratel BAU-23x2 'KADDB' under Yemeni Army infantry fighting vehicles and framed the list as equipment available to Yemeni parties on the battlefield after the Houthi takeover. Together, the sources support Yemeni inventory presence and later pro-government fielding, but they do not independently document a specific combat firing incident.

Timeline
By September 2015, Oryx had cataloged the Ratel BAU-23x2 'KADDB' in Yemen's pre-war fighting-vehicle inventory. That inventory context places the vehicle in the stock of equipment available as the civil war fragmented the Yemeni armed forces.
On September 26, 2022, pro-Presidential Leadership Council forces displayed Ratel BAU-23x2 armored vehicles during a parade in Marib. The parade evidence shows fielding by anti-Houthi, government-aligned forces rather than newly transferred equipment.

Operational role
In Yemeni service, the Ratel BAU-23x2 should be treated as a wheeled armored fire-support vehicle documented with government-aligned forces. Its BAU-23x2 weapon station carries twin 23 mm autocannon, while the Ratel hull provides protected mobility for ground units.
The public record located for this page supports possession, inventory presence, and fielding in the conflict. It does not establish which unit operated the vehicles, how many remained serviceable, or whether the type was fired in a named battle.
