The M329 APAM is documented in the 2023 Israel-Hamas War through open-source munition cataloguing and later strike investigations in Gaza. OSMP catalogued a Gaza entry dated January 19, 2024 as a tank gun projectile with the tentative model M329 APAM, reported in the Palestinian Territories, Gaza.
The clearest incident-level identification came from the August 25, 2025 strike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. The Washington Post reported that Earshot's audio-ballistic analysis of verified videos concluded that at least the first projectile in the second wave was probably an M329 120 mm multipurpose tank round, and Earshot separately published that the first of the two projectiles was highly likely an M329 set to anti-personnel mode.

Timeline
On January 19, 2024, OSMP recorded a Gaza munition entry as a 120 mm tank gun projectile and listed M329 APAM as the tentative model. The entry described an undelivered, unfunctioned whole munition, with blast, fragmentation, and cluster-munition functional-use tags.
On August 25, 2025, Israeli tank fire hit Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in two waves. Times of Israel reporting on the preliminary Israeli inquiry said Hebrew media reported that tank shells were used after Southern Command had approved a drone strike but not tank fire; the Washington Post later tied the second wave to high-explosive tank rounds and reported that the first of two projectiles was probably an M329.

For the Nasser Hospital incident, the Washington Post reported that weapons experts assessed video of the second wave as showing high-explosive tank rounds, while AP photographs of fragments showed 120 mm tank projectiles though not the exact shell model. Earshot's acoustic analysis supplied the specific M329 assessment by comparing the sound signature in five videos with known M329 anti-personnel-mode signatures.
