Direct proof of use
The public conflict-use record for Droid Box rests on Ukrainian defense-industry reporting and manufacturer statements about fielded ground robots in Ukraine. In April 2026, Militarnyi reported that Ukraine's Ministry of Defence had codified DevDroid's Droid Box universal control system for ground robotic systems, and that the system had proved effective in combat and was deployed on more than 1,000 UGVs of different types.
Oboronka, citing DevDroid's announcement, likewise reported that the Ministry of Defense had codified Droid Box and that the system had already been used on more than 1,000 UGVs, with stable operation confirmed in combat conditions. The reporting identifies Droid Box as a Ukrainian control system for ground robotic complexes rather than as a single vehicle or munition.

Timeline
In October 2025, Ukrainska Pravda reported DevDroid's introduction of Droid Box as a universal modular control system for ground drones. The report described Droid Box as the control and communications core for UGVs, including integration of combat modules, tablet or gamepad operation, and compatibility with several Ukrainian ground-drone platforms.
On 2 April 2026, Ukrainian defense reporting said the Ministry of Defence had codified Droid Box. On 7 April 2026, Ukraine's Ministry of Defence separately reported that Ukrainian forces had conducted more than 9,000 frontline UGV missions in March and nearly 24,500 UGV missions in the first three months of 2026, giving official context for the scale of UGV employment in which Droid Box-equipped platforms were being fielded.

Battlefield role
Droid Box's conflict role is command and control for unmanned ground vehicles. The sourced descriptions connect it to platform movement, communications, operator control, and combat-module integration; they do not describe Droid Box itself as an independent weapon that fires or detonates a munition.
The system sits inside Ukraine's broader push to replace dangerous frontline tasks with robotic platforms. Ukraine's Ministry of Defence reported UGV missions for ammunition delivery, logistical support, and casualty evacuation, while Defense News reported a 2026 Ukrainian plan to contract 25,000 UGVs and quoted officials describing a goal of shifting frontline logistics to robotic systems. Droid Box is therefore best treated as a force-protection and mobility-logistics enabler for Ukrainian UGVs in the full-scale phase of the war.

Platforms and evidence limits
Ukrainska Pravda listed NUMO, Ravlyk, Zmii, and Bizon among Ukrainian ground-drone platforms associated with Droid Box integration. Militarnyi and Defender Media reporting attached the later codification claim to a wider installed base, including more than 1,000 UGVs and several named platforms.
The available public sources support Ukrainian codification, fielding, and combat-condition use of Droid Box-equipped UGVs. They do not provide a complete unit-by-unit inventory, a verified serial-number count, or a detailed list of individual Droid Box missions.
