COPSIS SL is a Bulgarian fireless mine-and-grenade launching system from Transmobile Ltd. The manufacturer lists it for covert straight-shot or ballistic-arc fire, while Janes describes the launcher as a lightweight spigot system using modified RPG-7-series projectiles and a probable captive-piston firing method that contains launch gases, smoke, and noise inside the round.

Launcher And Ammunition Design

COPSIS SL is best treated as a launcher-and-round system rather than a normal mortar or shoulder-fired launcher. Transmobile describes fireless launch of mines and grenades, and Janes reports that the displayed system uses modified RPG-7-series projectiles placed over an internal spigot of about 200 mm.

Launch method

Janes assessed the design as probably captive-piston based, with the firing event transferring energy to the projectile while retaining propellant gases, smoke, and most launch signature inside the round.

Sight and support fit

The article describes a light non-metal launcher body, circular baseplate, forward bipod, optional carrying handle, and either manual sighting equipment or a compact digital aiming device.

Round modification

Janes says the standard expelling charge of a conventional RPG-7 round is replaced by a proprietary fitting for the COPSIS SL spigot arrangement; Transmobile separately lists fragmentation, smoke, cumulative, thermobaric, illuminating, radio-jamming, tear-gas, and other round categories.
