The BvS 10 appears in the 2014 Russia-Ukraine War through official Western transfer records rather than a single well-documented public battlefield incident. In December 2023, the UK Ministry of Defence announced that Britain was gifting Ukraine 20 rapidly deployable Viking amphibious vehicles as part of maritime support to the Ukrainian Navy.
The Netherlands followed with a separate donation in 2024. The Netherlands Ministry of Defence said on 31 August 2024 that it was donating 28 Bandvagn Viking amphibious tracked vehicles to Ukraine, that the vehicles were already on their way east, and that Dutch marines had trained Ukrainian personnel to operate and maintain the system.

Timeline
The public transfer timeline begins with the United Kingdom's 11 December 2023 speech announcing 20 Viking amphibious vehicles for Ukraine alongside raiding craft and mine-countermeasure support. The statement framed the vehicles as part of assistance to rebuild Ukrainian maritime capability during the full-scale phase of the war.
On 31 August 2024, the Netherlands announced that 28 former Netherlands Marine Corps Bandvagn Vikings had been donated to Ukraine. A later English-language Dutch defence news roundup said the same 28 vehicles had already been delivered, while the original Dutch-language release added that Ukrainian personnel had received operating and technical-maintenance training.

Narrative
In Ukrainian service, the publicly sourced BvS 10 role is best described as protected all-terrain mobility supplied by foreign partners. The UK announcement identified the donated vehicles as Viking amphibious vehicles linked to maritime support, while the Dutch announcement described the Bandvagn Viking as an amphibious tracked vehicle formerly used by the Netherlands Marine Corps.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence gave the clearest role description for Ukraine. It said the vehicle is suitable for troop and casualty transport in extreme terrain, can serve as a command vehicle, and can provide mobile fire support. The same release noted its articulated front-and-rear vehicle layout, armor protection, and ability to operate in varied weather conditions.
Open sources reviewed for this record support transfer, delivery, and training of Ukrainian personnel, but they do not identify a dated battlefield use, a named Ukrainian receiving unit, or a specific combat action involving a BvS 10. The conflict-use claim is therefore limited to supplied and fielded equipment for Ukrainian protected mobility and support roles.
