Direct proof of use
The Otokar Cobra is documented in the 2014 Russia-Ukraine War through its Cobra II branch in Ukrainian service. In May 2023, Espreso, citing Militarnyi and social-media footage, reported that the Ukrainian army had received Cobra II armored vehicles from Turkey's Otokar and that the video showed three vehicles on a dirt road, two marked with Ukrainian flags.
Oryx's running list of Turkish arms deliveries to Ukraine placed Otokar Cobra II infantry mobility vehicles in the May 2023 delivery record. Later reporting connected the vehicles to field use: Defense Mirror reported Cobra II vehicles photographed in the Kharkiv region in July 2023, Business Insider reported a May 2024 Kraken Regiment video of a Turkish-made Cobra II moving personnel under fire at Chasiv Yar, and Army Recognition reported a likely Cobra II medical evacuation vehicle in Ukrainian Army service from footage in the Kursk region in August 2024.

Timeline
The public record begins before confirmed Ukrainian use, when Cobra II vehicles were reported moving through Romania in April 2023, but the stronger conflict-use record starts the following month with Ukrainian-marked vehicles. Oryx lists the type under May 2023 deliveries, while Espreso's May 11 report described footage of three Cobra IIs already associated with the Ukrainian army.
By July 2023, Defense Mirror reported that several Cobra II vehicles had been photographed in the Kharkiv region, fitted with one-man open-top turrets. In May 2024, Business Insider described Ukrainian special forces using a Turkish-made Cobra II in the Chasiv Yar area for frontline personnel movement under enemy fire. In August 2024, Army Recognition reported a likely Cobra II medical evacuation variant with the Ukrainian Army in the Kursk region, broadening the documented use from protected troop movement to casualty evacuation.

Oryx supports a May 2023 delivery entry for Otokar Cobra IIs, Espreso and Militarnyi-derived reporting support the first public Ukrainian-marked footage, Defense Mirror and Business Insider support field exposure in Kharkiv and Chasiv Yar contexts, and Army Recognition supports medevac-variant use reporting in the Kursk region.
The public sources do not establish an official Ukrainian order, a confirmed delivery quantity, or a complete unit-by-unit distribution. Oryx's Ukrainian equipment-loss list, however, records visually confirmed Ukrainian Cobra II losses, supporting sustained battlefield exposure after the vehicles entered Ukrainian service.
