Land Rover

Land Rover is the British 4x4 and sport-utility vehicle marque whose Series, Defender, and modern Defender lines supplied a durable base for military utility vehicles, patrol conversions, communications vehicles, and protected patrol vehicles. The marque now operates within Jaguar Land Rover, which is part of Tata Motors, while the catalog connection is strongest through Defender-based systems such as the Snatch/CAV-100.

Land Rover vehicles supplied a long-running British light-vehicle base for military utility, patrol, communications, and specialist conversion work. Official Land Rover media ties the Series Land Rover and Defender lineage to 68 years of production at Solihull before the last classic Defender was built in January 2016.

Land Rover's catalog role is clearest where the marque supplied the base vehicle or chassis. The Snatch/CAV-100 family used the Defender 110 chassis with NP Aerospace composite armor and protected-patrol fittings; the broader Defender family also anchors military utility variants such as the Wolf / Defender XD.
