Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation

Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation is Taiwan's state-origin aerospace manufacturer for indigenous military aircraft, aircraft maintenance, avionics, engine work, and commercial aerostructures. Founded in 1969 as the Aero Industry Development Center under the Republic of China Air Force, the company became a government-owned enterprise in 1996, later moved toward privatization, and is listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange as AIDC/TWSE 2634.

AIDC sits at the center of Taiwan's domestic military-aircraft industrial base. Its official military portfolio lists the F-CK-1 Indigenous Defense Fighter, Xiong Ying/Taiwan Eagle upgrade work, the AT-3 advanced jet trainer, the T-5 Brave Eagle advanced jet trainer, legacy F-5E/F support, helicopters, UAV work, and the F-16 maintenance-support role. That mix makes the company both an original aircraft producer and a long-term sustainment organization for Republic of China Air Force fleets.

The company also operates outside combat-aircraft production. AIDC describes commercial aircraft structures, aero-engine manufacturing, aircraft maintenance and avionics, flight-test services, drone and aerial-target work, and technology services as part of its broader aerospace business. Its 2024 annual report lists the corporate address in Taichung, while the company history page traces the transition from a military establishment to a diversified aerospace company with commercial and defense lines.
