MKE manufactures Turkish artillery, small arms, ammunition, explosives, and other defense products through a group of specialized factories. Its heavy-weapons plant lists work on howitzers, mortars, tank weapons, and naval artillery, while MKE's small-arms factory identifies MPT-series rifles, KNT-76, BORA-12, PMT-76/57A, G3, MG3, MP5, and grenade-launcher production among its lines.
The company was reorganized as MKE Inc. in 2021 and remains a Turkish Ministry of National Defense subsidiary with capital wholly owned by the Turkish Treasury. Official MKE material describes the organization as an industrial supplier for Turkish Armed Forces requirements as well as a producer that markets defense products to domestic and foreign customers.
MKE's public defense portfolio is especially visible in two lanes: artillery manufacturing around the Panter 155 mm howitzer family, and infantry-weapon production around the MPT-76 rifle family. Both are documented by official MKE product or factory pages and by Turkish defense-industry reporting.

Older sources commonly use MKEK for Makina ve Kimya Endustrisi Kurumu. Current official English and Turkish pages present the reorganized company as MKE or Makine ve Kimya Endustrisi A.S.; legacy MKEK wording in sources should be read as predecessor or continuity context rather than a separate current manufacturer.
