Qiuxin Shipyard

Qiuxin Shipyard was a Shanghai shipyard associated with China State Shipbuilding Corporation and later Jiangnan Shipyard. Public defense references connect the yard to smaller People's Liberation Army Navy combatants and mine-countermeasure vessels, including Type 037IG missile boats, the first Type 081 Wochi-class minesweepers, and Type 082-family mine-countermeasure ships.

Qiuxin's industrial history predates its modern naval work. GlobalSecurity places the yard on the west bank of the Huangpu River near Nanpu Bridge, gives a 1902 founding date, and describes it as a large CSSC-subordinated enterprise. Shanghai historical reporting similarly traces Qiuxin Machine Manufacturing Shipyard to spring 1902 and notes early ship-repair and small-vessel construction activity in the first decade of the twentieth century.

The yard's later public-defense footprint is concentrated in small surface combatants and mine warfare. Xinhua-linked reporting on retired hull 752 Yuqing identifies Shanghai Qiuxin Shipyard as the builder and records a May 1991 launch, January 1992 naming, and August 2014 retirement. Open naval databases also identify Qiuxin as contractor for the four original Type 081 Wochi-class mine-countermeasure vessels commissioned in 2007 and as one of the yards tied to Type 082-family minesweepers.

Qiuxin no longer reads as a stand-alone modern shipbuilding group. GlobalSecurity describes an August 2000 merger in which Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co. Ltd. and Qiuxin Shipyard were combined under CSSC, after which Qiuxin became a Jiangnan subsidiary while retaining the name for outside relationships. The manufacturer name remains useful where sources identify specific Qiuxin-built vessels rather than Jiangnan's broader yard lineage.
